When something goes wrong¶
With every problem mTime tells you two things: what state things are in and what you do next. This page explains the cases that can occur.
bexio does not answer while saving¶
This is the most delicate case: an entry you believe is saved and is not – or one that is in bexio twice – would be real damage. So mTime never sends a second time by itself. Instead it looks in bexio and reports one of three states:
| Message | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| "mTime checked: the entry is saved in bexio." | Only the answer was lost. The entry is there. | Nothing. |
| "The entry is not saved in bexio." | mTime checked: it does not exist. What you typed is still in the form. | Save again. |
| "It is unclear whether bexio took this." | bexio answers neither the save nor the check. | Do not save again. Reload week and look. |
In the third case mTime replaces the Save button with Reload week, so that no duplicate entry can come about.
The timer cannot be stopped¶
If bexio does not take the time when you stop, the card says: "The timer is halted, but the time is not saved in bexio yet." The clock stands still at the moment of the first attempt – so no time is added while you wait. Click Stop again as soon as bexio answers.
If the entry of a running timer was deleted in bexio, the timer ends without a booking when you stop it.
The week is not shown¶
If mTime cannot read the week from bexio, it shows no week at all – rather nothing than something wrong or outdated. The message says why:
- bexio is not answering – reload the page; if it lasts, check bexio-status.com.
- The connection to bexio has expired – sign in with bexio once more.
- bexio is not accepting more requests right now – bexio limits the number of requests per company and minute, across all connected apps. mTime tells you how many seconds to wait.
- Your bexio user is not allowed to – check your rights for time tracking, projects and contacts in bexio.
bexio refuses an entry¶
"bexio refused these details" means: bexio understood the booking and does not want it – for example because the project is closed. Choose another project or work package and save again.
An entry has disappeared or belongs to someone else¶
- "This entry no longer exists in bexio" – someone deleted it in bexio while you had it open.
- "This entry belongs to another user" – mTime only changes your own entries.
Signing in does not work¶
| Message | What you do |
|---|---|
| You cancelled the sign-in | Click Sign in with bexio once more. |
| The sign-in took too long | It has to be completed within ten minutes and in the same window. Start again. |
| Too many sign-in attempts | Wait for the time stated. |
| mTime is not fully set up yet | That is not your doing. Report it to support; the address is at the bottom of every page of mTime. |
No connection¶
Without internet the installed app shows a page saying that mTime cannot reach its server. Nothing was saved or changed. Restore the connection and reload.
My project is missing in the quick bar¶
The quick bar only shows the pairs of project and work package you used recently. Choose Other project …; after the first booking the pair appears in the bar as well.
A new project or work package is missing¶
mTime remembers the names of projects, work packages and activities for ten minutes, so that it does not ask bexio on every click. If you have just created something in bexio, open the form and click the round button with the two arrows to the left of the Project field. It reloads projects and work packages from bexio; what you have already filled in stays.
Getting help¶
